Regina Marzlin is a textile artist incorporating printmaking, dyeing, painting, hand stitching, quilting and writing into her fine art work or her functional pieces. Her works are mostly nature inspired, though some are non-representational.Mostly starting with white natural fabrics, she dyes and begins to superimpose textural items into a harmonious symphony of colour and line. Hand stitching and quilting as well as layering fabrics, results in collages, which despite their complexity, are characterized by both their soothing and appealing qualities that invite us to touch. Regina has worked on developing and showing her art since 2005, when she began promoting textile arts, curating exhibitions and teaching workshops. She is a juried member of the international artist groups Studio Art Quilt Associates, Cloth in Common, and Art Cloth Network. Regina’s work is in private collections in Canada, the United States and Germany. She has created public art commissions for The People’s Place, Antigonish Town & Country Library.
