Inae Kim is a visual artist painting primarily in watercolour. She draws inspiration from the distinct Nova Scotian landscape; while the native flora features in her work, it is the urban landscape which is her favorite subject. Charming heritage buildings, strong colour, and the use of line and angles characterizes her work. Her style is realistic, yet simplified, drawing attention to often overlooked details in our lives and surroundings. Inae has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Fine Art Teaching Certificate from Seowon University in South Korea. She is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour (CSPWC), as well as the Contemporary Art Society. Inae received the Louisa Letson Award in 2009, the Wittnauer International Award in 2011, The S. J. Sloan Award in 2011, and her work is in the Nova Scotia Art Bank's permanent collection. Her works are in private collections throughout Canada and abroad.
