Ellen Moershel

Ellen Moershel is an up and coming abstract artist working primarily with oils and gouache.
Her work is characterized by organic shapes that play against each other creating tension. Like the flash-bulb memories it is inspired on, there is relentless movement in the myriad of colour, line, and shade, allowing for distortion, imagination, and emotion; to release and maintain direction there are always glimpses of solid white space, breaks in visual sensation and recollection.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Painting and Sculpture from the University of Oklahoma in May 2010. Though versed in several media, including sculpture and printmaking, she now works exclusively in painting and drawing.

Ellen has exhibited in the United States and Canada, where her work is in private collections.
