Dorothea LeBlanc

Dorothea LeBlanc is a visual artist working on a variety of media in two very different subject matters.
Her acrylic landscapes reflect the beauty of Nova Scotia and the Maritimes, capturing fleeting moments in light, shadow and colour in bold brushstrokes.
Her mixed media pieces explore colour combinations and texture with a heavy use of found or recycled objects.
While both subjects are captivating in their own way, their only common thread is that they both emanate from Dorothea’s drive to create and rejoice in art, to find it in and about everyday objects and scenes.

Dorothea graduated from the University of Guelph with a Fine Art Major in 1980, however health issues kept her away from art until 2007 when improved health and a trip to China sparked her imagination. She now relishes being a full time artist.

Her work has been the recipient of various awards at juried shows and she regularly exhibits throughout Nova Scotia, Canada.
