Cheryl Flemming

Cheryl Flemming is an oil painter working primarily on landscapes. Her studio and plein air lansdcapes concern mostly Nova Scotia and California, between which she divides her time. She captures the distinct colours and characteristics of the coasts and desert in seemingly spontaneous strokes that give an attractive diffused quality, as if in a dream or memory.
Her inspiration comes from her surroundings, while her motivation comes from the joy viewers derive from her work. “... [my] works are meant to uplift and inspire the viewer thereby bringing positive energy into their personal environments.”

Cheryl completed Bachelors degrees in Arts, Environmental Design, and Architecture at TUNS and Dalhousie University before settling as an artist. She has taken painting classes at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and from various artists such as: David Lussier (Connecticut), Terry Masters (California), Colin Page (Maine), Joe Paquet (Minneapolis) and William Rogers (Nova Scotia).

She regularly participates in plein air events and exhibits. Her work is in private collections throughout North America.
